Welcome! This page serves as a growing list of images and descriptions for the tearwater oracle deck. Please feel free to use these descriptions or write your own as you share about the deck! If you have other suggestions for how to make this deck more accessible (or a more useful/elegant way to structure this page) I am open to hearing about it! Please note that these previews reflect the overall mood, colors, concept, and style of the cards but that they are previews, and I may make changes to the design before it goes to print.

All cards will be 2.75 x 4.75” and printed with soft-touch coating and rounded corners. The cards were painted with gouache and then scanned and digitally collaged in a color palette of warm browns, deep blues, ultraviolet, light blue, pink, and white. All cards have an indigo outer border and a smaller inner border featuring one of the blues in the artwork itself, with a framed rectangle at the bottom of the card where the text is. Alternate Timelines

"Alternate timelines" features three dark blue/ultraviolet crows with white eyes circling a pink full moon (like cream-veined Rose Quartz) against a light redwoods-brown starry background. This card makes me wanna shout out writer Annika Hansteen-Izora and their gorgeous newsletter-- this month's letter talked about Alternative Timelines in a way i found deeply moving!

everything is relationship, relationship is everything

This one features a single blue speckled mushroom under a pink full moon against a redwoods-brown starry background. The dark blue ground below hosts an intricate root system, spreading across the bottom of the frame. Framed in rectangles above and below the border, typed text reads "Everything is relationship, relationship is everything."

This card features a sparkling blue fire on a redwoods-brown background with starry constellations.

clarify

Against a redwoods-brown background with starry constellations, the top third of the image is blue with subtle stars and hosts a fluffy pink-lit storm-cloud with raindrops falling out the bottom. Below, a white watering can filled with starry blue liquid sits in a puddle of the same.

illuminate

This image is bisected horizontally: the top half has a dark brown starry background and the bottom half dark blue starry background, with a wooden rowboat floating atop it. A crescent moon sits in the boat, moving towards the left edge of the frame.

Make Your Medicine

“Make your medicine,” features a glass jar with a cork in it full of sparkly blue magical liquid surrounded by borage plants (with buds and flowers). The background is dark brown and starry (I imagine it’s a new moon).

This card features an image of my hand holding an open pomegranate, its juice dripping down the side of my palm— painted in monochrome blues against a brown background, with dark blue leaves suspended all around it.

restore

"Restore" features a simple blue butterfly with white eyes, wings outstretched in front of a pink full moon. Below it, some blades of grass, the barely visible corner of a snail shell, and three blue bubbles with stars inside. The background of the card is a warm redwoods brown with starry constellations

here now

This card is bisected horizontally: one half has a starry brown background and the other half has a starry blue background. The first features a dark blue rabbit with white eyes running in front of a light pink full moon. The second features a white rabbit with dark blue eye running against a dark pink full moon.

Against a redwoods-brown starry background, three closed light blue envelopes and a giant tulip blue unfurling its petals to bloom.

All things change

'All things change,' features a skull on a dark blue starry ground in front of a pink full moon, with another smaller, ruby-red planet (I imagine it as mars) at the top. The skull has plants growing out of both eye sockets and reaching up.

explore the shadows

Against a brown starry background, a simple little house under a waning crescent moon. The house is light blue with a purple door and a dark blue roof, and starry blue darkness pours out of every window, pooling on the ground below.

Against a charcoal background, a huge pink full moon highlights a baseball cap and a ballgown.

how much is enough

Against a redwoods-brown background with starry constellations, a giant light blue broken goblet— it appears to be ceramic or cement— with dark blue liquid pouring into it from above, then spilling out of a huge crack in the side and pooling across the bottom of the frame. A pink full moon is shown coming into the right edge of the frame and reflecting on the liquid below.

MIND YOUR PACE
